Lake Gaston is one of the most beautiful lakes. It is a great place for families to gather.

Lake Gaston is on the North Carolina – Virginia Border with part of the lake in each state. Lake Gaston is a hydroelectric reservoir and has a damn at both end. The Lake is roughly 35 miles long, and has mile marker buoys starting on the east side and going to the west. Average depth of the lake is about 30 feet.

There is great fishing at Lake Gaston. You can catch Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, Walleye, Chain Pickerel, and Gar and Drum have been spotted.

Lake Gaston is famous for fishing and water sports. It is a favorite vacation spot as it is close to Raleigh Durham, Richmond and right off I-85 and I – 95. Favorite recreational activities include fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing, sailing and wakeboarding.
